7 hour agoNYPD officers work the scene where eight people were shot in a mass shooting in Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York, United States on July 4, 2026. After 10:00 PM police officers responded to the area of West 30th Street and Surf Avenue where eight people were shot. A 37-year-old man was shot to the shoulder, a 33-year-old man was shot to the chest, a 25-year-old woman was shot to the leg, a 21-year-old woman was shot to the chest, a 14-year-old boy was shot to the thigh, a 12-year-old boy was shot to the leg, a 7-year-old boy was shot to both legs and a 6-year-old boy was shot to the stomach.
