A 34-year-old man identified as Carlos Teron is fatally shot in the head opposite 1988 Clinton Avenue in East Tremont, Bronx, New York, on April 15, 2025. Carlos Teron is shot at approximately 10:53 PM and is taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition, where he is later pronounced dead. NYPD officers fatally shot a 61-year-old Asian man in mental distress at the intersection of 30th Avenue and 31st Street in Astoria, Queens. The man, armed with a 14-inch knife, advanced toward officers despite commands to drop the weapon and unsuccessful taser attempts. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead. Shell casings were found at the scene, where multiple NYPD units investigated. The man had two prior NYPD encounters related to mental health issues.
