56-year-old man shot and killed at a deli and grocery in the Belmont section of Bronx, New York, on Monday, February 17, 2025. Monday evening at approximately 6:21 PM, police responded to the front of 717 East 187 Street where officers found a 56-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS responded and transported the man to Saint Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigators of the NYPD Crime Scene Unit collected a shell casing at the scene and photographed the area.

Fire inside a home claims the lives of three people at 33-35 208th Street in Bayside, Queens, New York on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Sunday morning around 2:58 AM firefighters and ems personnel arrived to the scene where a fire was engulfing a residence. Numerous people were hurt in the blaze. Firefighters performed CPR and chest compressions on one victim and rushed the individual to a waiting ambulance. It has been confirmed that three people have been pronounced dead. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and the scene remains active.
