NYPD responded to 494 East 138 Street and, officers observed a 32-year-old man with a stab wound to the chest. EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln where he was pronounced dead. A person of interest has been taken into custody.

Officers give chase. The man points a firearm at a uniformed sergeant, according to the NYPD. Four police officers discharge their weapons. The man is taken into custody, is struck in the torso by police, and is currently in critical condition at the hospital.
