35-year-old man shot and killed at Gov. Alfred E. Smith NYCHA houses in Manhattan, New York, on Friday, May 9, 2025. Friday evening at approximately 8:49 PM, police responded to 388 Pearl Street, Manhattan, New York. Upon arrival, officers observed a 35-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS responded and transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue where he was pronounced dead. There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing by the New York City Police Department. The identity of the deceased is pending family notification.
