A gunman fired a hail of bullets at a man sitting in a Mercedes Benz outside a Brooklyn church, hitting the victim in the chest, police and a witness said. The 28-year-old victim was sitting in the luxury sedan, just steps away from St. Vincent Ferrer Church on E. 37th St. near Glenwood Road in East Flatbush, when the shooter walked up to him. The gunman opened fire, pumping out at least 14 bullets. At least 10 of those bullets tore through the silver Mercedes.
An early morning fire in a Westbury apartment building Tuesday resulted in injuries to four police officers, one firefighter and one resident of the complex, Nassau County police said. The fire at 135 Post Ave. was reported at 12:33 a.m. and one resident of the building was hospitalized for burns

A Jamestown firefighter is facing a handful of charges after an alleged physical altercation with his girlfriend. Ryan DiDomenico, 35, is accused of holding his girlfriend on the floor, against her will, and at one point, brandishing a handgun and firing a round of bullets into a wall into the residence.
Two drivers and a passenger were hospitalized after a head-on crash in Lockport Sunday afternoon. It happened at about 1:15 p.m. Sunday on Route 93. According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, it appears a red 2017 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on Route 93 when it crossed the center lane and struck a 2010 Ford F-250 head-on.

Police have arrested one of the men suspected of raping a 24-year-old woman in Chelsea. The incident happened during a house party Feb. 3 at the Fulton Houses on West 17th Street. Police say two men approached the woman who was in a bathroom inside an apartment, and raped her.

A man is dead after he was struck by a stair that fell off a fire escape of a seventh story apartment in SoHo Friday afternoon, police said Saturday. The incident happened on Howard Street at Broadway in SoHo, near Little Italy, police confirmed around 1:40 p.m. The stair came loose when an engineer, hired by the building owner to inspect the building, stepped onto the fire escape.

A man was killed after he crashed his car into a supermarket in Queens early Saturday. Authorities received a call about a single vehicle collision in front of a Stop & Shop Supermarket on Union Turnpike near Woodhaven Blvd. in Forest Hills. The 21-year-old driver was found unconscious and unresponsive. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not been released pending family notification.
Police are asking for the public's help to find the driver who hit a person in a motorized wheelchair and then drove off. The crash happened just before 6 p.m. Friday around Vulcan Street near the GM plant.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with harassment in connection to an investigation into a possible threat at the Berlin Central School District. Authorities say some kids were talking at lunch at Berlin High School on Thursday. They say the boy said something inappropriate about the Florida school shooting and the comment ended up on Snapchat. After seeing the post, another student went to school leadership and police were notified.

Police say two men posing as cops robbed a Brooklyn home at gunpoint. It happened around 5 p.m. back on Jan. 26 near Hale and Ridgewood avenues in Cyrpess Hills. Investigators say the men forced their way into the home through a back entrance, pulled out a gun and said they were with the police. Two people are hurt in a shooting and stabbing on the South Side of Syracuse. 911 reports indicate that officers responded to a shots-fired call at around 9:20 pm Monday night on Midland Avenue near West Newell Street.. They found one man shot and another stabbed on Both victims are in their 20's. Only one of the victims was sent to Upstate Hospital. Police are reportedly looking for two suspects.
